ICAMEK National University Moot Competition 2025
Overview
Shaping the Next Generation of Arbitration Leaders
The ICAMEK University ADR Moot Competition 2025 is Uganda's premier student arbitration challenge, an innovation-driven platform designed to build the next wave of arbitration and mediation professionals.
Why the ICAMEK ADR Moot Matters
Across Uganda and the region, the uptake of mediation and arbitration continues to grow, but gaps in awareness and capacity persist. Most universities do not offer domestic or international arbitration as formal courses. ICAMEK is closing that gap by offering a competitive, high-impact learning experience that immerses students in the realities of modern dispute resolution.
What the Moot Offers
-
Hands-On Arbitration Experience. Students engage with real-world domestic and international arbitration concepts, procedures, and institutional rules.
-
Career Acceleration. Participants gain early exposure to arbitration practice creating a launchpad into ADR careers locally and globally.
-
Access to Industry Experts. The moot connects students with seasoned arbitrators, mediators, and dispute resolution practitioners through workshops, oral rounds, and networking sessions.
-
Professional Rigor. From drafting written memorials to delivering persuasive oral submissions, participants build high-value skills sought after in modern legal practice.
Driving ADR Innovation in Uganda
As the first national arbitration moot hosted by an arbitration institution in Uganda, the ICAMEK ADR Moot Competition is a transformative step toward building a resilient, competent, and future-ready ADR workforce.
